CFF – The Centre for Photography
About us
The Centre for Photography (CFF-Centrum för fotografi) is a nationwide association representing the interests of photographers and photography. The association has a twofold purpose: to educate the public and spread knowledge about the photographic image, and to support different types of professionals working with photography. Through exhibitions and programmes, the association seeks to promote a discussion of the role and function of photographic images in society, in historical perspective and in the present day. By creating new interfaces for contact between the field of photography and other sectors of business, the association explores new ways to find job opportunities for its members.
The association’s gallery comprise different photographic genres and show topical Swedish and international photo exhibitions. The gallery activities endeavour to set today’s various photographic expressions into relevant contexts through a programme of lectures, seminars, debates and guided tours of the exhibitions currently on show. The Centre for Photography is active in a number of networks, collaborating with other actors in the field of photography, both nationally and internationally. This includes a Nordic arrangement for artists in residence, a national network for photography in Sweden, cooperation on international photo exhibitions and investigative projects to build up knowledge about photography, and much besides.
